The Galileo Open Air Cinema – Experience the magic of outdoor movies at Bloemendal Wine Estate in Durbanville (Tuesdays), Kirstenbosch Gardens in Newlands (Wednesdays), the V&A Waterfront in town (Thursdays) and rotating venues in Cape Town (Fridays) as well as alternate Saturday shows in the Cape Winelands and Family Sundays that take place on school holidays at Kelvin Grove Club and consist of a magical kiddies play area with jumping castles, face painting and games.
From 31 October 2017 until 28 April 2018, The Galileo invites you to enjoy a really fun evening with friends, a super romantic date with your gorgeous couple or even your company’s social event.
Doors open at 6pm weekdays, 5pm Saturdays and 4pm Sundays, and movies start at sunset. Local food vendors selling delicious & fresh specialities add a market-feel to the evening so there is lots of socialising and mingling before the movie. Backrests and blankets are available for rent, a roaming photo booth adds a touch of fun and overall… it’s a great vibe!
If a show is cancelled due to rain or strong winds, you will be notified via email/sms/social media so keep an eye out on the day of the event.
